AFLOAT by Eva O’Connor and Hildegard Ryan will be performed at Future Limerick: Climate Arts Festival from 18th May – 20th May.

Eva O’Connor and Hildegard Ryan co-wrote Afloat, an apocalyptic exploration of loss, sisterhood, and climate anxiety.

Afloat follows best friends Bláthnaid and Debs as they find themselves the sole survivors of an apocalyptic flood over Dublin. Stranded on the top floor of Liberty Hall, they are left to ruminate on their own part in this horrifying event. Why were they blind to the wave that was coming? And can they salvage a future from the wreckage?

“A entertaining and enlightening new play… forces the audience to consider, in very concrete terms, their own role and responsibility in the future of the planet.” ★★★★ – Irish Times

Starring Annette O’Shea, Eva O’Connor, Michael David McKernan and directed by Anna Simpson.
