Tom Connolly

Tom is a writer and director who has worked in commercials, shorts and features.

Tom’s original feature-length screenplay The Love Letter of Jimmy Fisher was accepted onto eQuinoxe Europe’s autumn 2013 programme. Tom is attached to direct.

Tom is attached to direct feature Plan A – written by Nick Perry, selected for eQuinoxe Europe summer programme 2014.

Tom’s has recently written and directed short film Mate starring Ed Stoppard, Jeremy Swift, Alix Wilton Regan and Nathan Ampofo.

Tom wrote an instalment,”Out of the Depths” for Radio 4’s Subways, a series of short stories with subterranean settings. His radio play commission The Man in the Lift for Sweet Talk Productions TX October 2013 on BBCR4 starring Phyllida Law, Sheila Reid and John Light. The Man in the Lift was shortlisted for the Imison award.

His first novel The Spider Truces (co-agented with Deborah Rogers at RCW) was published by Myriad in April 2010. It was selected for the Waterstones New Voices scheme, the Financial Times Books of the Year, shortlisted for the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Award and the Waverton Good Read Award and longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize 2011. Tom has been commissioned to adapt The Spider Truces for Endor Productions.

Tom completed his second novel Men Like Air with a grant from ACE. Published September 2016.
