Steven Hevey is a playwright and screenwriter. Originally from Essex he now lives in London.
The winner of OffWestEnd’s Adopt a Playwright Award 2014 and several Peggy Ramsay Foundation Awards, Steven is Playwright on Attachment at the Finborough Theatre and was one of last year’s Old Vic 12. His play The Test, commissioned by the Old Vic was given a rehearsed reading there in July 2016. He has worked extensively with Old Vic New Voices and Paines Plough and is a graduate of the Royal Court and Soho Theatre Young Writers Programmes. His plays include We Know Where You Live (Finborough Theatre), Sirius (Old Vic Theatre) King For A Day (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Short Plays by Steven Hevey (Soho Theatre), Pay As You Go (Cock Tavern Theatre) and In My Name (Old Red Lion and Trafalgar Studios 2). Steven’s short plays have been performed at Shakespeare’s Globe, Oval house, Hampstead Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, Bush Theatre, Old Vic Tunnels, Vineyard Theatre, New York City, and the Lyric Studio Hammersmith.
He has developed projects with Kudos, Noho Films and Hat Trick.
Steven’s play King For a Day had a rehearsed reading at Prince of Wales Theatre in October 2016 and he is currently developing a comedy drama series with Mark Brotherhood for Hat Trick productions.
