Jeff Murphy has won the British Academy Cymru Best Writer Award 2014 for Hinterland. The Fiction Factory dual-language crime drama also won Best Director (Marc Evans) and Best Photography and Lighting (Richard Stoddard) out of the nine nominations for the series at the ceremony on Sunday 26th October.

Jeff has also written the first episode of the second series of Hinterland. He has recently delivered a first draft of feature Men of Harlech for Acme Films/Film Agency Wales. Other features include Denmark (BBC Films/Severn Screen/Film Agency Wales) and Moifaa (Liberty Films Wellington New Zealand/Severn Screen/Film Agency Wales). He is developing several original TV series ideas.
