Roy Mitchell

Roy writes for television, film and theatre.

Roy’s new play Degenerate, about the German expressionist painter Emil Nolde and Billy Wilder the US film director, has been optioned by JK Productions with whom Roy is developing the play.

Roy co-created New Tricks which ran on BBC1 for 12 series. Gina Cronk produced the 90’ pilot and first series for Wall to Wall.  Roy wrote on every series and created new characters when each member of the original cast left.

New series in development include: Look For Me for Two Cities (Stephen Wright), Brief Lives for Balloon Entertainment,  Roy has adapted The Lobster Kings for Kevin Brown & Lawrence Bender in the US. Roy has written the treatment for his new series idea Speed for ITV Studios.

Roy co-created Thief Takers (three series for ITV) and Back Up for BBC2 (2 series).

He wrote the 2002 feature film Semana Santa, also known as Angel of Death.
