Mark has been writing comedy for TV for over fifteen years. Starting out as a writer/performer on BBC2’s Comedy Nation and The Paramount Comedy Channel he went on to co-write (amongst other things) Skin Deep, a Comedy Lab sitcom for Channel 4; Placebo for BBC3; and an episode of Trexx & Flipside for BBC3. He also wrote, animated and produced a series of one minute topical cartoons for a Channel 4 breakfast show along the way.
Since 2008 Mark has written on a huge amount of kids comedy shows including My Spy Family, Jinx, Summer In Transylvania, Hotel Trubble, 4 O’Clock Club, The Revolting World of Stanley Brown, Strange Hill High, Hank Zipzer, Scream Street, All At Sea, So Awkward, Horrible Science and Danger Mouse. Mark’s DM Series 1 episode ‘Greenfinger’ was nominated for the 2017 WGGB award for Best Children’s TV Episode. He also co-created the BAFTA-winning online mystery drama Dixi.
Mark has also polished and punched up a large number of scripts for many different TV series, the most recent being new Lionsgate feature film Four Kids & It.
Recent projects include Aardvark, a non TX pilot for CBBC with mime artist Trygve Wakenshaw, Redshirt 1, an animated series in development with CBBC, and Q and Stunt Academy, pitches for Kindle Entertainment.
Mark writes both on his own and with writing partner James Griffiths.
