Rochelle started the company in 1984. Having joined the National Theatre straight from school as Yolande Bird’s assistant and then working for Peter Stevens, the General Administrator, she was part of its move to the South Bank. In 1977 she became agent Clive Goodwin’s assistant. After marrying Peter Stevens in 1979, there followed 12 months in New York (running Judy Daish Associates Inc) and six months in Stratford, Ontario, where Peter was MD of the Festival Theatre. In 1981, Rochelle returned to the UK and worked as Verity Lambert’s assistant at Euston Films & Thames Television (and subsequently as a Story Editor) and in 1983 she was hired by Curtis Brown to build their list of dramatists.

Frances graduated in Textile Design, exhibiting at New Designers in 1988. She ran the Theatre Bar at Winchester’s Theatre Royal, spending summers travelling and teaching weaving in the US. Inspired by the work of touring companies such as Cheek by Jowl and Oxford Stage Company she came to work at The King’s Head Theatre in Islington. Frances was hired by Rochelle in April 1991 and quickly moved on to build her own list of clients from 1992. She is married with two children, two dogs and nine chickens.

isobel davis

Isobel studied English & American Literature and Culture at The University of Hull. After graduating in 2015, she worked at Picturehouse Central for a year before moving onto various reception roles and internships. In 2019, Isobel interned at Gardiner Herrity, followed by cover assistant roles at United Agents and ARG. Isobel joined Rochelle Stevens & Co in June 2021, as maternity cover.  She became a permanent member of the team in April 2022.
