Ciara is a versatile BAFTA Scotland-nominated screenwriter, specialising in emotional family drama and issue-based stories. A story-lining veteran, Ciara spent 15 years as a script editor, story-liner and script/story producer, with eclectic network credits such as Monarch of the Glen, Lip Service, Rockface, 55 Degrees North and BBC Scotland’s River City. After earning an RTS Scotland nomination for an episode of River City that she wrote and produced, Ciara took the dream leap into writing full time in 2016. Since then, Ciara has applied her signature ‘heart, hope and humour’ writing episodes for Casualty, Holby City, River City and The Dumping Ground.
In 2022, Ciara wrote an episode of Screw II for STV/C4 and the second episode of four-parter For Her Sins (Gaumont/C5). More recently, Ciara has written the closing episode of Granite Harbour S2 for LA Productions/BBC and is writing episodes for Whitstable Pearl S3 (Buccaneer/Acorn), and new six-parter The Wives (Gaumont/Channel 5).
Ciara has original projects in development with Balloon Entertainment and Gaumont UK, and is working on projects with BBC Studios.
